Paintings
Rough textures, combined with mysterious hidden figures and subtile elements to enhance the curiosty. One can look a while and discover new things, that were hidden in plain sight!
In the first layer of many of her paintings, colorful art metals such as gold is often used. Also copper, dried out coffee, sand and other rough materials can be found, Within the last layer. luxerious pigmented oilpaints are used, this is to assure colours will not fade away over time.
The flowers in her paintings can become almost sculptural this way! One could say her history as a sculptor becomes visible this way. Obviously most paintings are somehow inspired by nature, like the semi-abstract landscapes for example and the mono-prints that are made using real flowers or plants.
People entering this gallery often say the joyful colors make them happy. While talking with Rolinka about the subjects of some of the paintings the deeper meaning of them can be dicussed.
Her art is diverse. One can see sculpting, jewelry and woolen shawls also here. Over the years many of these artworks found their way to art-collectors and homes around the world.
More about previous expositions can be read in the page about that, and on Instagram one can see many happy owners. Some were even willing to share a peek at their interior, how a painting looks in their home! So much fun to check this out! Instagram page: @artrolinka

Her work has also been shown a few times on a dutch television-show.. For example: Once she was making paintings and sculptures in a show with the theme "Angels" on the NCRV and another time it was about a painting of Hippo's (shown al day at "Noord-Holland-tv). This painting was sold on the benefit and protection of these animals in (what was then called) Zimbabwe... A lot of publicity was made about this in the press! But as been said earlier; nowadays most paintings are seen and sold in the gallery in one of the golden streets of Haarlem, the Schagchelstraat, at nr 33, from spring till winter comes, open on wednesday too. Otherwise on thursday's and fridays from 11.30-1600 and on saturday till 1400.
