Oilpaintings and mixed media paintings
When I am painting I like to try out unusual materials like aluminium or coffee to create interesting rough layers and texture in my first layers..Or I combine oilbars with fluid acryls, to get the idea of Oilpastel and ecoline but then on canvas. Or to let the oilpaint drip on a waterbased paint, which is the other way around.. I can get very enthousiast when I see things happen that I like and then try to influence it in a way that makes a painting that is abstract to begin with but get's sometimes recognizable forms along the way. But I don't mind if the wotk becomes entirely abstract nowadays..Other times I start with some idea what I am about to make but this can easily change during creating..and that is just thefun of it!

Bij het schilderen houd ik ervan te zoeken naar onverwachte combinaties in de materialen..en lagen op te bouwen zodat interessant reliefs ontstaan, bijv met koffie of aluminiumpapier. Om dingen uit te proberen en te zien wat het effect is van wat ik doe. Bijvoorbeeld door olieverfstiften te combineren met vloeibare acryls, die elkaar dus afstoten. Zo ontstaan hele sprankelende basislagen. Eigenlijk is het een soort van oliepastel en ecoline-effect, maar dan op doek. Of ik laat olieverf druppen op een canvas dat ingesmeerd is met een waterige acryl..en kijk of ik leuke vormen zie ontstaan..maar ook het gieten van acryls als basis voor een olieverfschilderij of cold wax vind ik een leuke techniek om toe te passen.. Ik kan daar heel enthousiast van worden als ik dan iets zie ontstaan waar ik verder op door kan werken naar een of ander herkenbaar onderwerp. Maar het mag ook abstract blijven..wat de laatste tijd steeds vaker gebeurd. Soms neem ik echter ook een schets of foto als uitgangspunt voor mijn werk. Als mensen blij worden van mijn doeken dan geeft me dat veel voldoening!! Nieuw is het schilderen op schelpen, welke ik ook op de kunstmarkten verkoop..en in mijn etsy webshop.

"Magdalena kijkt naar de kruisiging" ze is verdrietig
vanwege het tafereel, maar tegelijk ontroerd door
de intense liefde en aanvaarding aan haar bewezen...
